Frequently asked questions

If you are under 35 and have not conceived after 12 months of regular unprotected intercourse, or are 35 or older and have not conceived after 6 months, it is a good time to consult. Seek advice earlier if periods are irregular or you have known conditions such as PCOS or endometriosis.
PCOS is a common cause of irregular ovulation. Weight management (even a 5–10% weight loss in overweight women), medicines that induce ovulation and, if needed, IUI or IVF can help.
Around 30–40% of women with endometriosis may have difficulty conceiving. Treatment can include surgery, assisted reproduction or both, depending on severity.
