1. Get Ready:
- No Eating: Don’t eat or drink anything except water for 8 to 12 hours before the test.
- Medicine Check: Tell your doctor about any medicines you’re on. Some can change the test results.
2. Reach the Test Centre:
- Come to the Sunshine IVF Centre for the test. Be on time, it might take a few hours.
3. First Blood Sample:
- We’ll take a small blood sample to check your sugar level before the test starts.
4. Glucose Drink:
- You’ll drink a sweet liquid with 75 grams of sugar. If it’s too sweet, you can add some lime. Drink it all in about 10 minutes.
5. Sit and Wait:
- After drinking, sit and relax. Don’t do any hard work. We’ll tell you how long to wait, usually 2 hours.
6. More Blood Samples:
- We’ll take blood samples every hour. You’ll give two samples, 1 hour apart. This checks your sugar levels after the drink.
7. After the Test:
- When the test is done, you can eat and drink like normal. Some people might feel sick or dizzy, but it goes away fast.
8. Next Steps:
- Your doctor will look at the test results and talk to you later. You might need more tests or treatment based on the results.

- Tell your doctor if you feel really sick or faint during the test.
- It’s important to do the test right to get good results. This helps find problems like diabetes or gestational diabetes.
